EI-IMC was built for Alitalia in 2003 at Airbus’ Hamburg facilities. The aircraft flew in Alitalia colors for many years, remaining in the airline’s fleet until 2021. After Alitalia ceased operations and was replaced by ITA Airways that same year, EI-IMC continued to fly while still wearing the Alitalia livery. In September 2023, the aircraft was withdrawn from the fleet. The following month, it flew to Istanbul Atatürk Airport, where it was placed into storage. Sadly, that flight was the final for EI-IMC. Later, Romanian airline Fly Lili was reportedly interested in acquiring the aircraft, but the deal never materialized. Left idle on the apron at Atatürk Airport, EI-IMC was eventually stripped for spare parts and left largely bare. Its final fate remains unknown. However, judging by its current condition, it seems highly likely that EI-IMC will eventually be completely dismantled. Once flying across European skies in Alitalia colors, EI-IMC now waits silently for its final fate.
